[Kenosha, WI] Xten Industries, a growing leader in the plastic injection molding and contract manufacturing industries, is once again the focus of a series of articles about plastics and sustainability in Modern Plastics Worldwide  magazine.

Modern Plastics Worldwide magazine is distributed to over 50,000 subscribers in 137 countries. According to Modern Plastics Worldwide , the magazine reaches 25,000+ professionals in plastics-intensive end markets such as packaging, medical devices, appliances, and manufacturing. The magazine has the largest monthly circulation in the plastics industry and has been in circulation in 1925.

This article is the second of a four part series focusing on Xten’s efforts to balance sustainability and profitability. This second article, published this week, centers on Xten’s efforts to reduce and avoid waste. The article lists examples such as:

• Reducing Xten’s total resin waste by 43%, during 2009,
• Saving some customers $90,000 with returned packaging programs
• Saving some customers at least $120,000 in freight cost.

Xten’s first article in Modern Plastics centered on Xten’s endeavors to lower the company’s electrical consumption and partnerships with state programs.
