In-mold decorating

In-mold decorating (IMD) is an efficient and cost-effective way of decorating a plastic part  during the molding cycle. This process provides the end-user with both a durable and highly decorative part.

Xten Industries uses IMD for several different applications and is constantly investigating different opportunities for our customers to take advantage of this process. One example of Xten’s IMD experience developed is a process to provide a bar coded, decorative end product that  withstands over 500 chemical washings ( saving over $500,00 annually)  - a prime example of the strength of IMD!

Xten’s president, Matthew Davidson, often speaks at different industry events - touting the advantages of  IMD and Xten has  hosted workshops to help educate our customers and others about the process.

A more complete explanation of IMD and an excellent case study can be found in the January 2009 issue of Plastic Decorating Magazine which featured Xten Industries on its cover and  in an informative article  dedicated to Xten and its IMD experience.
